Month running calendar clock

Clock numbers 18 and 19. Clock number 18 was received well during the Suffolk Craft Society's summer exhibition during 2010.
This is my second clock featuring the grasshopper escapement which is fascinating to observe.
The calendar displays the full year showing February with 28 days.

There are two versions of this clock, number 19 has the added features of the phase of the moon and the equation of time. Both are shown here, the moon phase clock , number 19, has a laminated Oak case with a lift off section to wind the clock. There are two slide shows below. The first , clock number 18, is housed in a satinwood case, with front and back opening doors. It shows the date and time. Both mainsprings are wound to give a maximum duration of 32 days.

The second is clock number 19, this has an Oak case, the whole upper section of which lifts off in order to wind the clock. In addition to the time and date being shown, the equation of time is shown. This is the difference between the time we see on the clock dial, the "mean day", and the time of the sun in the sky at a given point ie the "Solar day". The phase of the moon is shown on the lowest dial
